Wake-up and Sing Gower!

Breathe fully, listen deeply and reconnect with whole-heartedness

Singing

Our ancestors understood what many of us have forgotten. That, just like sleeping and eating, singing is an essential part of being human. In todays stressful world singing with others can help us reconnect with all that it means to be whole hearted and fully alive.

With 18 years experience of teaching choirs and singing groups, I understand that for some a whole day of singing can be tiring, mentally, physically and of course vocally. This is why I combine singing with other activities, gentle movement with awareness, fun with sound and improvisation and the opportunity to just listen. This not only makes the day easier, it also makes the singing better! Helping you to realise that you can't get it wrong and to sing with even more freedom.

No previous singing experience is needed - singing in the oral tradition is for everyone!

Movement / Stillness

Since completing my 4 year training in The Feldenkrais Method® in 2016 I like to bring Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® work into my longer singing events - any time that I feel there is enough time and that the group will benefit from a pause from singing, resting the voice and developing a more inward awareness. Singing together connects us with each other. Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement connects us with ourselves. It's a perfect combination. In one day workshops I do mini ATM (Awareness Through Movement) lessons that last between 5 and 15 minutes - it's a great way to experience The Feldenkrais Method and get a taste of what it's all about.

Venue

Overlooking 3 Cliffs Bay, one of the most popular spots on The Gower - Britains first area of outstanding natural beauty, this really is a hidden treasure of a venue. Right away from the road, Penmaen and Nicholaston Village hall has a wooden floor and high ceiling - its a great place for singing but also cosy and warm enough for the quieter moments of the day.
